school for hire, all weather surface and plenty of hard standing for lorries or
trailers. Dressage markers around safe fence, and portable lightweight obstacles
to practice with if required.
Lessons given in all stages of carriage driving, from beginners upwards, young drivers very welcome, by the hour day or intensive courses, B&B available on farm.
We can help with showing – obstacles – dressage – tandem- team- or just for pleasure, can give advice on buying harness and vehicles, with a selection to try out to see what suits you before you go and buy.
Our instructors have a lifetime of carriage driving; have safe schoolmaster horses to start you off and 100 acres to drive on.

PUTTING TO A PAIR by Caroline Douglas LHHI and Sophie Adkins LHHI is a delightful and informative Allen Photographic Guide. This excellent new book is aimed at competent carriage drivers who are interested in finding out the fundamentals of putting a pair of horses or ponies together. The clear pictures and succinct explanations make it the ideal companion for exploring the fitting the harness and carriage safely and can be propped up in the yard and used as a reference through all stages. The authors are both experienced trainers who felt that there was a demand for an easy to use uncomplicated guide and this really does fit the bill. The ponies used make delightful subjects and the harness and carriage are affordable and practical. Procedures are clearly illustrated and there are some very sensible tips that even the most experienced 'whips' could take note of! This is a great present for any carriage driving enthusiast.
