Eastleigh Borough Council local plan update  -
The BDS and the BHS strongly encourages members and fellow equestrians to take an interest in what is happening in their area and to respond to public consultations. Some of it may seem a bit tedious to read, but as they say ‘the devil is in the detail’. Development in the Borough of Eastleigh could potentially impact on where you ride, drive and keep your horses. For example, the anticipated increase in the volume of traffic on the roads could potentially make it more difficult and unsafe for horse riders to access the rights of way network.

Planning  -  There is a huge amount of infrastructure and housing development taking place within the county. Whilst it may not directly affect you, the knock-on effect may bring more traffic to what are now quiet roads in your area that potentially could impact on your driving and riding. Responding to planning consultations in your area raises the profile of carriage drivers and may make a difference..
